Serbian Private Equity Association, in collaboration with Republika Srpska Representative Office, organized the event “Republika Srpska – Open for Business”, within the “Days of Srpska in Serbia”. On this occasion, the delegation of the Government of Republika Srpska, led by Prime Minister Zeljka Cvijanovic, presented the investment opportunities in Republika Srpska.

Prime Minister Cvijanovic highlighted the Government’s commitment to provide maximum support to all investors who decide to invest their capital in Republika Srpska. The PM also pointed out that the country presents a desirable destination for foreign investments, thanks to stimulating tax policy, natural potentials and geographic position.

“The comparative advantages of Republika Srpska include liberalized legislation, which ensures legal security to foreign investors, while the foreign trade agreements provide access to the market of almost 600 million potential buyers”, stated PM Cvijanovic, and added that this kind of events are a great chance to send a message that Republika Srpska is a good place to invest, due to its stimulating business environment.

At the event, Minister of Finance of Republika Srpska Zoran Tegeltija spoke about the advantages of tax policies and the macroeconomic landscape of the country. The Minister of Industry, Energy and Mining Petar Djokic focused on the possibilities of investments in energy sector, highlighting hydro-power potential as the most important resource of Republika Srpska. The legal framework for foreign investors was presented by Minister of Economic Relations and Regional Cooperation Zlatan Klokic, who spoke about one-stop business registration system and announced the upcoming introduction of e-registration.

President of SPEA David Schoch expressed great pleasure because of the established cooperation between the Association and the Government of Republika Srpska.

“SPEA’s core mission is to act as an advocate for private equity in the region and to help it foster and grow by creating awareness, promoting best practice, providing educational programs and creating opportunities for networking.  Private equity is a key source of financing, particularly for the emerging markets in the region and as such, SPEA is extremely proud to be partnering with the government of Republika Srpska today to help promote investment into the region”, he underlined. “The country has made significant efforts in creating favorable business climate and we are certain that it will soon become one of the key centers for private equity and venture capitals investments in the Balkans”, claimed the President of Association.
